Large washing machine waves rear up like vipers about to strike, held in a suspended moment , before tumbling over and crashing into the oncoming surge, sprays of fine clear mist rise, the troubled waters, fuming and boiling with white rage. Food vendors adorn the pavements selling all manor of intercontinental delicasies, Afghani kebabs to Mongolian sliced beef.
Pushing through the [...]

Spider leg sails floating above, fingers wrapped around the ‘hold the rain’ handle, glossy and slippery, the smell of rain pelting the tarmac, puddles forming with concentric circles where the drops hit. Reflections of buildings and skyscapes on wet lathered shining asphalt. Backs of my jeans getting wet rubbing soggy against my calves like a [...]

Farewells and leavings, champagne celebration evenings before departure, exited bubbles,  as exited as stomachs that churn with anticipation, buttery stomachs on long distance voyages. Sea spray whipping over the bow of the boat, plimpsols resounding on wooden planks of deck number two, feet pounding, thump, thump, thump, heart pounding bump, bump bump. Laps around the [...]
